Who is Matador Turning Supply

Hello, welcome to Matador Turning Supply. My name is Michael and I am from Lubbock, Texas. I am a father to 3 amazing boys and a husband to a beautiful wife. I am a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University and have deep roots in both Texas and New Mexico. There is no other place I would rather live than the Llano Estacado region of the United States.

In search of a hobby, I dabbled in woodworking in 2012 as an escape from my day to day full time job. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. Now I just try and find time to do it between all the activities associated with family life. Woodworking gives me a creative outlet that allows me to focus on art and functional pieces.  I am a self taught woodturner and a member of a local turning club. My favorite things to turn are pens, which is what got me into turning, but I also enjoy bowls, platters, and hollow forms. I do multiple art shows every year and have a website and Etsy store dedicated to things I make. One of the best feelings is selling your work not only in the USA but the entire world. I like to teach and help others that are getting into the hobby.

I started Matador Turning Supply as a venture in offering items that are not available elsewhere. I will still offer items that are common in our craft, but want to offer items that are not that common either. From pen turning to bowl turning my goal is to provide excellent service and quality materials. I source materials from all over the world and try to find unique items from smaller artists that I can offer to you.

The Shop Dogs

Meet Willow and Bristol the two shop dogs. Willow is a 1.5 year old Golden Doodle and follows me every where and is always laying in the shop when I am in there.. Bristol is a 1.5 year old Blue Great Dane rescue that follows her 3 boys everywhere.
